There is always some mail in your email talking about golden opportunities to work from home and to make great returns. Most people will mark it as spam. Is there any truth in these? Are there any worth while work from home opportunities for the average Joe?

You need to have a good understanding of medical terms so that you can do a genuine job. Additionally, you must have a good understanding of the language involved, good typing skills, a computer and an internet connection.
